Private health insurance
Vita Speech Pathology is a private health insurance provider. Rebates from Private Health Insurers are dependent on your private health insurance coverage and benefits. Vita Speech Pathology also provides HICAPS services, which allows individuals and families to process private health insurance claims at the time of payment.
NDIS Funding
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has rolled out in South Eastern Melbourne. If you’re an NDIS participant and would like to access speech therapy services from Vita Speech Pathology, you will need to ensure that your NDIS funding should either be PLAN MANAGED or SELF MANAGED for individual therapy and attendance of any group therapy (e.g. Social Skills Program). Please speak to your planner about your management options when discussing your NDIS plan.
If you would like more information about the NDIS, please visit their website: http://www.ndis.gov.au or call the NDIS helpline 1800 800 110.
Helping Children with Autism (HCWA)
Helping Children with Autism is a Medicare-funded scheme to assist families with access to early diagnosis and treatment of children with Autism or pervasive developmental disorders. To access the HCWA funding, families require a referral and treatment plan from a consultant paediatrician or psychiatrist.
Many of the funding options that were previously available, such as HCWA and Better Start, are being phased out and replaced by the NDIS.
